Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?

Amazing, having the chance to go through different placements throughout the company and to have a better understanding for my long term career pathway.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

Improving customer experience for approach access and departure from the car cross car line from a systems engineering perspective and aligning with feature teams on how to improve and find gaps that need such (First placement).
Verification and validation for functional charging creating and executing test plans making sure the cars adhere to the requirements which provide the customer with an experience of modern luxury. (Second placement)
Linked requirements from system level down to sub-system for Vehicle Lifecycle Management team and written documentation for the software files through doxygen and automated configuration generation changes through python on the base C files. (Third placement)
Research on battery future technology and its impact on carbon net zero for JLR by 2039, reviewing the options specifically looking into semi solid state batteries and the competitors and doing a presentation to stakeholders. (Optional experience placement)
Giving input on decisions that stakeholders ask was one of the most enjoyable as the impact it has on the cars.

There is always someone to ask support for which is fantastic.

Most placements had great work life balance as they were hybrid so had time for personal time and was very flexible.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Along with the hybrid working policy, general atmosphere and culture is amazing consider I need a place for a quiet room and there always is and Friday prayer.

How would you rate JLR initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

Based on my previous answer very inclusive and great accessibility to food options for events catering and places for quiet rooms.

How would you rate JLR CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

Giving time off for volunteering a year is a very good initiative by the company.

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?

Yes

Why?

Well renowned company, good salary pay and plenty of placements to explore as well along with the great inclusivity so always finding space and time to pray and eat what I want.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

5/5

Definitely different than my expectations but it was excellent never the less, as the placements are more joining a team that might not necessarily be structured on what to do or aligning with my degree as to how it was advertised, but there is always possibility to network and find a team that is closer to what you want.
