Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?

It was a very positive experience. The recruitment process was a bit tough but it was all worth it. I learned so much during my time and got an opportunity to travel nationally & internationally. JLR helped me in getting some professional qualifications like 6 sigma yellow belt etc along with that I am now a full time salaried employee after finishing my grad scheme.
Overall I would highly recommend JLR as a start of career.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

Stakeholder management, supplier negotiations, data validation, SAP, developing Strategic Dossiers, contract management, sourcing & Resourcing.
I like the part of sourcings, resourcing and contract management along with supplier negotiations the most as it has helped me to develop my skills a lot and supplier negotiation is a part of the job which I really like.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

My contributions make actual difference. My opinions and suggestions are valued and I make real difference with my work at my workplace and am responsible for real deliverables which have high impacts.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

Yes it does. First, compared to other grad schemes at other companies, the packages are fairly low. Along with that there are certain perks like ELS( Employee learning Scheme) which enables us to take some different activities and learn new skills ( £150 / annum)
Along with that various discounts on many companies through smart spending helps me save a lot on my regular spend

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

I think the responsibilities I got during my scheme contributed a lot for my future and I have handled real projects with impact worth millions of pounds to the business which has helped me to grow my network, help me understand handling critical situations.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

It’s great as we get plenty of opportunities to undergo formal training and certified courses during the scheme.

How is the support you receive?

There is plenty of support available. We have Early careers team who supports throughout the journey, then we have buddies and supervisors, along with that various networks and ofcourse your teams to support you

How is your work-life balance?

5/5

I chose which days I want to work from home/ office etc. As being an immigrant, I get 30 working days to work from abroad per annum.
I can be flexible with my working hours.
