Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at NatWest Group?
I had a positive experience as Digital Transformation graduate at NatWest Group. Moving placement each month really helped develop my skillset but also my adaptability and resilience to change. The graduate community is great and really helps you settle in and build connections. Managers also try to create a supportive environment and help you eventually find a permanent role in the bank, although sometimes there can be issues with not having enough work to do.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I rotated teams every six months, with my placements coming in journey development, supply chain management, and business planning. My responsibilities included delivering personalised customer journeys using Adobe tools, managing supplier relationships and financial governance, and leading internal communications initiatives such as newsletters and intranet content. Other parts of my role involved collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver projects, and contributing to strategic research and risk awareness programmes.
In terms of what I enjoyed the most, in my journey roles I had a tangible positive impact to the customer.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
3/5
Depends widely on the team and how many rotations you've done already. Some are great at getting you upskilled and delivering positive work while others leave you to your own devices, essentially wasting 6 months of time you could be developing skills to get you a permanent role
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
4/5
Salary is pretty good considering the work life balance of the company.
Benefits aren't great unless you value health/dental insurance (not much of an issue for most when you're in your early 20s)
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
Good that you get to experience different areas of the bank to get a feel of what you like and what you don't like
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
3/5

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
3/5
I'd say support from buddy's and your line manager is great. HR were not great at giving support for how to find permanent roles
How is your work-life balance?
4/5
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
5/5
Vast majority of people are extremely friendly and helpful to you as a grad
How would you rate NatWest Group initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
4/5
How would you rate NatWest Group CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
4/5
Values are good but the volunteering system is very fragmented - relies more on word of mouth rather than any central system
