Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at NatWest Group?
After completing a year, I have really enjoyed it. There is a nice culture here and loads of graduates so it is really easy to make friends. NatWest is very flexible in terms of working from home which I'm very grateful for and I also get study time for a professional qualification during my working week. Overall, I'm really happy here.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
It does depend on what placement you are in but you do 4 rotations over the course of the 2 year programme, 6 months in each team. In my first placement I worked on investigating the future world of work and the skills we need our organisation to have. My 2nd placement was in NatWest Thrive an external facing youth proposition, and my 3rd is in Talent Acquisition. I would say you get as much responsibility as you ask for.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

It will depend on the team and the work that you're asked to do but overall I would say it does contribute meaningfully
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

We aren't leading when it comes to pay, but the flexibility is great. I'd rather be paid more and be mandated to go into the office more frequently to be honest.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

I think the role prepares you well for a role within the organisation, but maybe not further afield.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I learn something new just about every day but I wish I was learning about different areas that could equip me with more mouldable skills outside of HR

How is the support you receive?

I wish at points it wasn't so corporate and things would be dealt with immediately rather than having so many hoops to jump through. My line manager has been amazing throughout the entire process, it's been Early Talent who have been hard to contact.

We have 3 volunteering days per year and we can use them as and when we choose, I love this as it means the individual employee can support causes that are the closest to their hearts.

Why?
The culture here is really good, if you ask for support or shadowing opportunities, it is very rare for anyone to say no to you which is really great. We have a market leading paternity policy and decent benefits here too.
