Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at NatWest Group?
The experience a NatWest Group has been very rewarding. I've had the opportunity to develop strong data analytics and coding skills. Everyone in the bank has been very supportive, and I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the job role of data & analytics. It's been a great environment for both professional and personal growth
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I had several job roles, each with different responsibility.
Digital analyst - Led the migration of data from Snowflake to AEP, conducted EDA, collaborate with different reams, developed and maintained SQL scripts. Enjoyed the work in which I led certain projects
Data scientist - Data derivation and extraction, created data pre-processing pipelines, designed and iterated credit card models, model evaluation and refinement. Enjoyed the work where I could create models with new features
Data Engineer - Developed scalable Python data pipelines, contributed to synthetic data generation, and enhanced internal Python packages. Enjoyed the synthetic data generation as it was a lot of hard work, but it came to fruition

Very good to contribute meaningfully for everyone; me personally I have asked for more opportunities and the team were happy to give these opportunities

It's very good; personally I have not opted into any of them, but I can see myself use them in the future

Very good, often with scheduled meetings, but can always message team members anytime as approachable
How is your work-life balance?

Work-life balance is good; people can be very disciplined. Often times, can be very busy and can work somewhat late, but no one is enforcing it, so it is a personal choice. A good trade-off considering the flexibility this job allows!
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Very good, working from home is very good and is often recommended since teams are spread across several locations.
