Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?
Overall expereince has been good, because the company is so expansive there's a large variety of work you can take on and as part of the graduate scheme it's easy to move around. There is a factor of luck in that aspect as I have heard some graduates have issues with their managers when trying to move
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Role responsibilities will depend on which team you get put in. Being in smaller teams or more business critical tends to mean you will be responsible for larger or complex projects. A bad aspect is that its easy for some to get comfortable and coast but at the end of the day it is what you make of it, if you're willing to push yourself the opportunity is there.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
3/5
Again depends on your team and your own motivation. The opportunity is there but you it wont just be handed to you.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
3/5
Annual leave is flexible
Generous salary & joining bonus compared to other automotive graduates
Various benefits such as free eye tests, discounts ect
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
4/5
Lots of development opportunity within team and company wide training.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
3/5
Again very is to coast or be forgotten, dont be afraid to nag people for training/shadowing/questions as its the best way to learn

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
4/5
Varies based on where your placed and your own needs. Personally could have been "babied" abit more at the start as felt was thrown straight into the deep end on my own but others have had the opposite experience.
How is your work-life balance?
4/5
Varies again. Some departments are very flexible while others will have crunch culture. Generally as long as you stand your ground, its fine.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
4/5
Most people are friendly or nice, sometimes people can be patronising or
How would you rate JLR initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
4/5
Diverse range of backgrounds and cultures compared to most companies. Lots of events/society-esque groups and opportunity to start your own.
How would you rate JLR CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
3/5
Haven't taken part in myself much but always people volunteering on work social page.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Compared to most it strikes a good work life balance and relatively competitive compensation for automotive grad scheme. Opportunity to really push yourself if you want it.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
4/5
Definitely a lot more relaxed than I expected but first full time job so I didn't really know what to expect.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to JLR?
Try show off something you're passionate about - I think being genuine is something they appreciated more than anything.
