Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Forvis Mazars?
My time at Forvis Mazars as a graduate has been incredibly rewarding! From the very beginning, the whole team was kind, approachable, and always willing to help. There was a strong emphasis on training and support, which made the transition into the role very smooth.
One of the biggest advantages is the opportunity to work towards the ACA qualification while gaining practical experience. The firm provides excellent support for this, helping to balance study with work commitments. Although in all honesty it has been extremely challenging, it’s also been deeply rewarding and has contributed significantly to my professional growth.
Another major plus is the flexible working arrangements. Being able to work from home frequently has been a great benefit, but it’s also reassuring to know that whenever I’m in the office, there’s a supportive team environment where colleagues are always happy to assist.
Overall, it’s been a fantastic experience that has helped me develop both professionally and personally!
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
my main responsibilities include supporting audit team during fieldwork. Gathering documents, performing transaction testing, and assisting in the preparation of audit documentation (working papers). My favourite part of the job so far has been visiting client sites. Interacting with clients, meeting new people, and gaining firsthand insight into how different businesses operate. It’s incredibly rewarding to delve into the details of how operations are run and to see the inner workings of various organisations up close.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
4/5
In my role, I am solely responsible for testing the areas assigned to me during the planning stage of each audit. By being meticulous, applying professional scepticism, and documenting my work clearly and thoroughly, I contribute meaningfully to the completion of the audit. Although I’ve primarily worked on less complex areas so far, I’m looking forward to take on more challenging tasks as I continue to develop. I feel valued by my team, good work is consistently recognised by seniors and managers, which motivates me to keep improving and contributing.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
4/5
Forvis Mazars has great benefits, my favourite include, holiday buy, taste card, shopping discounts or dental insurance
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
Through my role and the ACA qualification, I’m gaining lots of practical and valuable knowledge that will be extremely useful in my future career. I’ve had the opportunity to observe how businesses operate across various industries, understand their operational processes, and see how different leadership styles and personalities influence success. I’ve also developed a strong understanding of the financial side of running a business, including compliance with financial reporting standards. These experiences are giving me a well-rounded foundation that will benefit me in any future professional path I choose.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
At Forvis Mazars, there are plenty of opportunities to attend a wide range of training sessions and continuously develop new skills. Some of the most valuable areas of growth for me have been in Excel, teamwork, and time management, all highly transferable skills for any future career. They’ve always made it clear that if you’re eager to learn something new or take on a challenge, they’re ready to support you. This encouragement to grow, learn, and develop has made a real difference in my experience.
