Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?
My time at JLR has been both analytical and strategic. I’ve built dashboards, led competitor benchmarking, and worked on initiatives to optimise residual values and finance performance — all of which have deepened my understanding of how data drives commercial decisions across a global automotive brand. I’ve also had the chance to collaborate cross-functionally with retail and product teams, gaining insight into how strategy translates into real customer and business outcomes. It’s been a challenging but genuinely rewarding experience.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
The role has developed my ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights which inform strategic decisions. This also develops your strategic thinking skills, cross functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
Specific responsibilities differ based on which rotation of the graduate scheme on but the above are skills which are consistent across all the rotations that I have been a part of.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

It has been dependent on the rotation, but I have found if there isn't opportunity then you should go and create an opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

I think the benefits and pension scheme is good, the salary is average for the industry and all roles are paid the same which is nice but means some roles are underpaid in comparison to other companies. I think the salary, which has regular scheduled rises, should be reviewed in line with the inflationary environment and cost of living crisis. A significant portion of the scheduled pay rises is absorbed by inflation rises in the duration of the graduate scheme.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

The role has a great varied experience which provides an excellent foundation for a strong career.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

The formal training for graduates varies in value. A lot was basic stuff which many already are aware of, but there was value in parts of it also. Day-to-day, new skills and knowledge is gained frequently but this could be managed better with formal goals and achievements within work, or perhaps further educational learning which is recognised.
