Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?
Overall a positive one, lots of other graduates started at the same time, got to go Silverstone, very laid back company.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Data engineering - coding using python and SQL.
Data analytics - Using Tableau and Excel.
Presenting findings to managers and others.
Rotation from my team within Finance to Propulsion.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
Very valuable work can be done towards your team. I lead a major project in the engineering space.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
3/5
Perks are very standard for a graduate employee at JLR, very good perks for workers at managerial level.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
4/5
If I want to continue in data this gives me a good spine, if not I think conversations can be had that would allow me to explore other avenues.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
3/5
At the beginning I was learning so many new things a day but after 6 months this has dwindled massively due to no one above teaching me new work. Had to take it upon myself to outsource training.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
3/5
Support is good in the sense there are people to contact if need be, more in person days would better this.
How is your work-life balance?
5/5
Work does not take anymore time than it should, I work my hours and due to the flexibility I have with my managers some days I finish early some days I will work late.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
3/5
JLR has gone through lots of challenges and change since I have joined which has caused mixed reactions, overall it is still a positive place to work compared to most.
How would you rate JLR initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
5/5
No complaints, strive for inclusion.
How would you rate JLR CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
3/5
We are allowed 2 volunteering days per calendar year.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Good salary for work-life balance, there are places to grow within the company you just have to want to find them.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
4/5
Matched it very well other than I was hoping to be closer to the products and have a better understanding of our future products.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to JLR?
Try and think what do I have on a scale that is better than most people. That could be communication, coding skills, presenting, even just being positive and showing up.
