Going into tenants properties to undertake maintenance jobs, adjusting doors, changing leaking taps, glazing jobs are a few of my day to day jobs I regularly do
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The course itself was good and enjoyable learnt lots of new skills relevant to tasks I’d do on day to day basis.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, lots of basic plumbing and carpentry skills were learnt and given the chance to practice these with a trained operative
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The structure was average, wasn’t really any plan set it was more you’re going with this person and then forgotten about for months. I think I more stricter learning plan would help with future apprentices and regular 1 to 1s with managers to express concerns and to voice any concerns or struggles
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Support on first year was not great but did improve going into the second year. The operatives I went with were supportive more often than not
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Similar to previous answer, first year very poor. Our tutor was leaving so I felt that not much time went into helping develop us. The second year with new tutor improved and he was very helpful when completing portfolio
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Performing the actual job it’s helped well but didn’t discuss anything in terms of customer relations, how to handle different customer issues
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Twice a year there were apprentice events which were great for networking with others across the business and a great chance to meet new people
