Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Supporting the Apprenticeship Development Team by contributing to the coordination and delivery of key initiatives. Providing in-work support and mentoring to fellow apprentices, helping to guide their development and address challenges. Assisting with the preparation and analysis of monthly finance reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoyed the programme, as it played a significant role in my personal and professional development. While I did not follow the traditional route of attending university, I was able to build and strengthen my skills through hands-on experience in the workplace. Completing a widely recognised Business Administration apprenticeship provided me with a strong foundation and practical knowledge that has supported my growth.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

During the programme, I developed key skills in networking, finance, administration, and organisation. I also built strong resilience, which has been invaluable in adapting to challenges and maintaining progress. Overall, the experience was extremely beneficial to both my personal growth and professional development.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme was well structured, allowing me to effectively balance my work responsibilities alongside my apprenticeship commitments. I was given sufficient time and support to complete my apprenticeship activities, as well as to prepare for and successfully complete assignments. I also provided ongoing support to my manager and the wider team, contributing positively to team objectives and collaboration.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received a high level of support throughout the programme, including regular quarterly one-to-one reviews with the Apprenticeship Development Team. I also attended “Unwrapped” events, which provided valuable opportunities to develop my soft skills and network with other like-minded apprentices. In addition, I was given progression opportunities such as shadowing other teams, which supported my development and helped prepare me for the transition into permanent employment.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider offered consistent support through monthly meetings, where I was able to discuss my progress and seek guidance on assignments whenever needed. They were highly responsive and proactive, maintaining clear and effective communication throughout the programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

As a result, I was able to perform more effectively in my role, demonstrating enhanced organisational skills, stronger communication, and increased confidence in managing my responsibilities.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I attended “Unwrapped” events, as mentioned previously, which supported my development by enabling me to collaborate with other apprentices, share best practices, and gain insight from their experiences. I also participated in organisational roadshows with the wider business, which helped me develop a deeper understanding of key areas of the organisation and how different teams operate and contribute to overall objectives.

Completing my apprenticeship has opened up many opportunities to network and grow professionally. As mentioned previously, I did not take the traditional university route, and I do not regret that decision, as Clarion has provided me with the skills, experience, and support needed to set me up for long-term success.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Clarion Housing Group?
Research the organisation and understand its values and what it stands for. Show enthusiasm and a genuine willingness to learn, as well as being open and honest about your strengths and areas for development. It’s also important to take time to practise and prepare before applying or attending any interviews.
