Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at Mott MacDonald?
One of the highlights has been the company’s investment in my professional development — they sponsored my APM PFQ qualification, and I’m now preparing for the APM PMQ, which I’m really excited about. I’ve had the opportunity to work on one of the most impactful defence projects, where I’ve gained significant experience in a short time, leading to my recent promotion to Assistant Project Manager.
Looking ahead, I’ll be joining other teams to broaden my knowledge in CRM and strengthen my understanding of the business side of project management. Overall, Mott MacDonald has provided me with a dynamic and growth-oriented environment, and I’m genuinely grateful to be part of it.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
A key part of my role involves collaborating closely with the Project Manager to implement risk management and mitigation strategies. I report risks and issues using specialised software and contribute to monthly risk reports for the Risk Manager. Additionally, I’ve developed a strong understanding of NEC3 contracts, Tech 12 procedures, RFI processes, and CEMAR, which has been instrumental in supporting project delivery.
What I enjoy most about the role is the dynamic nature of the work and the opportunity to continuously learn and grow. Being part of a high-impact defence project has accelerated my development, and receiving positive feedback from stakeholders and the F-35 DP team has been incredibly rewarding. I particularly enjoy the collaborative environment, the chance to engage with different teams, and the opportunity to expand my knowledge in areas like CRM and business operations.
