Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

There's a learning curve to the internship, at the beginning I was mostly getting data from documents down to spreadsheets, then moved to understanding why some things need further testing or further explanation from clients. By the end, I was able to conduct testing beginning to end by myself, asking for help if needed. Also had the opportunity to work with the team at client site.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Given a lot of opportunity to learn and grow, and some ownership to what I did. So I think I was given a good amount of responsibility for what the internship proposes. In terms of responsibility regarding pressure to get work done there was almost none, everyone understood that I was still learning and were very flexible in that regard.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

A lot! I had a Buddy and a Supervisor, which were coworkers assigned to assist me during the internship, and all my other colleagues were approachable and supportive, more often than not I would ask quick questions to whoever was at the office. Also, we had a week of designated training on the firm, Softwares, and audit procedures.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Very friendly, community led. There were many socials, team lunches, and a team volunteering day (all optional). Working hours were flexible and there was also the possibility to work from home.
