Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I was a social media intern and my day to day roles involved community management, searching for potential influencers and scraping the internet to find trends and content ideas. I also did a bunch of other fun stuff such as meeting influencers and attending a content shoot.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

A fair bit. I was the only Gen Z in the London office and of course, with social media that is my expertise so i was trusted alot. It was nice to see my suggests and ideas taken seriously and put into action.

I have developed my professional networking skills, as a huge part of my project involved me connecting with external stakeholders. Also my data interpretation skills in regards to content planning and strategy

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Loads! I felt like I had multiple layers of support at all times through my manager, my navigator, my mentor and the early talent team! It was a really supportive environment and everyone was willing to help

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

EG claims to be a people-first company and to my surprise that was not just marketing! Everyone in the company is very friendly, eager to help and chatty which has really made my experience over the last 10 weeks. They have monthly office breakfasts and other events which really makes the office feel like a community.

I really enjoyed it! Everyday was fun. The work was interesting, the people were great and i couldn't have asked for a place to start my career journey

Be yourself- let your personality shine through in all stages of the application. Research the company and it's missions and values and reflect this in your interview. Don't be afraid to show enthusiasm for the company, industry and sector because it will make you stand out.
