Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
During the internship, I worked across 3 different client teams where my main responsibilities included checking, drafting, and updating client reports, as well as carrying out research into new ideas. Alongside this, I contributed to an RI project that I focussed on throughout the eight weeks, which gave me the chance to build a deeper understanding of the work and track progress daily. At the start of my internship, most of my time was spent completing training modules and attending training sessions to build the technical knowledge I needed. I also had weekly catch ups with my people manager which were really valuable for feedback and guidance.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes I was given lots of responsibility during my internship as I always had bit of work to do and everyone was keen to get me involved with their work which was great.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Hymans Robertson to a friend?
Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to Hymans Robertson
My advice to others applying to Hymans would be to be really enthusiastic and genuinely interested in the work the firm does. It's important to be open-minded and willing to step outside of your comfort zone, as you'll be learning new skills and taking on challenges that might be unfamiliar at first. I'd also say be as friendly and as approachable as possible as the culture is very collaborative and you never know what opportunities may arise from speaking to people.
