Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Working in accounts I was responsible for ensuring financial data stored on our system was accurate and up to date as well as performing credit control ensuring payment were received within terms.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have learnt a lot over the course of my apprenticeship and have built a lot of relationships. I was provided with great support from around the business, the apprenticeship provider was tricky to work with. Learning what I have has been interesting, and getting to network more across the country has been great in my confidence and overall enjoyment of my Programme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a huge amount working here. I have achieved my AAT level 3 qualification having no previous experience in a finance setting or knowledge on how finance operates. I have had the opportunity to learn a variety of different computer software's and even partook in supplemental learning which has taught me great amounts on handling my time management and professionality.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
From the business perspective, the programme was really well structured, initially I spent time learning the job and going over the course details and how it works. I had scheduled meetings with apprentice support staff and was encouraged to network with apprentices across the wider business and there have been events where apprentices all come together to celebrate achievements or get support. The apprentice support team have been a real highlight of my time during this programme and ave been really supportive both in getting through it, and what comes next.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
From day one I had a web of people around me to advise and support, I was even provided a mentor from a different area of the business who I could just vent too or talk personal issues out with. I have felt very welcomed and supported by the apprenticeship support I was given. Catch ups, support sessions and 1-1's all occured frequently throughout my programme.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Initially I felt very lost in my apprenticeship and what was expected to achieve this, mainly due to faults with the provider and personal nerves. However I have been supported the whole time and attended various classes throughout my tenure. I had a coach alongside me who worked with the provider, who assisted me on any portfolio work and exam worries.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Having gained the qualification I have a lot more knowledge on the operations and what my tasks actually do. It's also given me more confidence working in this field of expertise.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are a host of activities, since joining i have attended pool tournaments and away days and frequently see colleagues plan events such as yoga sessions or charity races.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Clarion Housing Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend Clarion based on their treatment and care to employees. It has felt very human working here, and the business offers a plethora of support programmes as well as benefits to it's staff members. They have supported me greatly in achieving something I couldn't have on my own.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Clarion Housing Group?
Don't be intimidated by the busy offices and high energy, you're not expected to know or get along with everyone across such a large business, so focus on your immediate team and those you work with and enjoy it. You can get familiar with wider colleagues in time!
