Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes. I did work that was then checked and reviewed and sent out to clients with me cc'd in the email, sometimes with no changes and using the email I had drafted, so I could see that my work was sent to clients. I worked with grads and a few more senior actuaries, and was also given responsibility in organising team socials and sending emails to over 400 people. All of the work I was given, which was a lot and I was never bored during the internship, was the same as what a grad would have been given, and the grads on the team took time to explain everything to me in depth.
