Business transformation intern Review

As a Business Transformation intern at PA Consulting, I support teams in delivering strategic change initiatives. My day-to-day tasks include conducting research, analysing data, preparing client-facing materials, and contributing to workshops and meetings. The role gives me hands-on experience in consulting and helps build key skills in problem-solving, communication, and collaboration.

Through the variety of work on the internship, I was able to take on a variety of responsibility. Firstly, in my client work, I was able to gain ownership over my individual workstream. On the intern project, we worked as a collaborative team. And on the final project I was involved in, under guidance, I took the lead on the project. Responsibility was openly given, but support was also always provided.

During my internship, I’ve significantly developed my presentation skills. I’ve had the opportunity to create and deliver presentations to both internal teams and stakeholders, which has helped me become more confident in structuring content clearly, tailoring messaging to different audiences, and communicating insights effectively. Regular feedback and exposure to professional standards have also helped me refine my delivery and visual storytelling.

I was heavily supported throughout the internship. From everyday guidance and support from the beginning from my line manager and 'buddy'. Each project I was involved in, I gained mentors along the way and support from each member of my team.

Everyone at the firm, regardless of level, has been extremely welcoming and ready to open and speak to us about their experiences and outcome.

I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at PA. From the people, the type of work available for us to partake in and the guidance provided made the past 8 weeks a very invaluable and enjoyable experience.
