Internal Audit Summer Intern Review

I would help different teams on different audits, from issue validations to testing. I had 3 rotations in IT, Risk and Legal and GFC and the work differed in each exposing me to a wide range of knowledge.

Yes, I attended daily meetings and stakeholder walkthroughs. My tasks also were meaningful as they helped each audit accordingly.

Yes, my audit and financial industry knowledge has expanded widely as I have learned things I would have never learned in a university environment. Not only this, but my people skills and organisational ones have also benefitted as I am constantly communicating with others and managing my own time.

I received a lot of support and guidance from all team members, from my line manager and buddy to the rest of the team and even people I would not interact it. The culture of the bank makes everyone friendly and open to help which I really appreciated.

The company culture was friendly and extremely supportive. Everyone would be open to speaking to me and teaching me things from a basic level which was greatly beneficial. Teamwork was the heart of everything and this was really evident at my time here. There are also a lot of events from networks to the early careers team which are amazing to network and build connections in. One all the interns participated in was a CSR volunteering day at the local foodbank which was eye opening as well as fun!

I really enjoyed my internship here, more than I expected. Not only was the work meaningful and valuable, but the people and culture really made a difference. Everyone was so friendly and I appreciated this experience a lot!
