summer intern Review

My role in operations is to support the day to day functions in the bank. I had two rotations: one in credit middle office and one in global market operations (collateral management). Each days used different systems to aid the bank operate efficiently. On a day to day, was in contact with front office divisions as well as clients to make sure the bank runs smoothly.

Yes throughout my internship, my managers gave me adequate amount of responsbility and tass, which were completed to the best of my ability.

Yes learnt many new skills. Such as understanding what this division does as well as using different types of company applications as well as learning industry specific skills. The most important skill that I learnt was confidence and emotional intelligence. Talking to different people everyday allowed me to be really confident enabling me to take these new characteristics outside the work life.

Each manager assigned to me, improved the person I was at the start of the internship compared to the end. They taught me new skills and gave me responsibility. If I wasm struggling on anything, they were more than willing to sit down with me and help me until I was confident.

The culture at MUFG is amazing, they care for the their employees a lot and do believe in work life balance. Every individual I have come acorss regardless of their rank, everyone has talked to me and taken out time from their day to assit me.

I enjoyed my internship a lot due to the fact I had two rotation, one on the bank side and one on the global markets side. It really solidified, what I want to do in the future. MUFG early careers team also held socials for the interns that also allowed us to the enjoy the social side of MUFG.
