Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
During the scheme, we each sat in two different departments with a supervisor. We had regular talks with partners and associates from different departments as well as chats with trainees. We also had some set tasks to complete and a presentation to prepare and deliver to a panel or partners.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was a very enjoyable process. We were provided with the right amount of information for it to be insightful but not too much to process. We had formal talks as well as informal chats and everyone in the firm was very open to answering any question.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Yes, I have learned a lot generally about what it means to be a lawyer and trainee and the different departments the firm has. I learned to communicate better, to be more familiar with legal tasks, and to organise myself more efficiently.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Both the culture and the atmosphere were great. Everyone was very open and approachable yet professional, hard-working, and down-to-earth. The company culture is collegiate, teamwork oriented, and inclusive.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed the insight a lot. It was great to have the opportunity to speak to many people every day, and learn a lot from everyone working there. The work was also interesting and provided a good insight into what it means to be a trainee. It was definitely quite stressful at times to manage everything, but I think it also meant we were able to get the most out of it.

- Be yourself (you don't want to be hired for someone you're not, and you perform your best being yourself).
- Be active. The scheme is what you chose it to be, it's great if you can meet many people and participate into many different tasks to get a better insight into the firm.
