The role entailed a week of top quality financial training, followed by two rotations through the Investment Banking division. Day-to-day the role varied significntly, from doing technical modelling to creating presentation pitch decks for clients. It was incredibly versatile and allowed me to develop in a financial environment effectively.

Yes, having come from a non-financial background, studying mechanical engineering at University, I gained not only technical financial skills but I also developed a much broader understanding of how a structured finance organisation works and how the different divisions fit together,

Throughout the 10 weeks, I received continued support from my line manager, buddies and also from the Early Careers team, who were always available to answer any questions I had or to give any relevant advice.

The company culture was exceptionally friendly and open, whilst also profesasional and efficient. I relished the opportunity to speak to industry experts of all levels in the company, ranging from analysts to MDs. There is a strong 'asking questions' culture, as everyone is keen to support other people's development which is especially beneficial to an intern who only has limited time to learn and develop.

I thoroughly enjoyed my internship experience, both due to the work I had the opportunity to take part in but also due to the amazing people I had the opportunity to meet along the way.
