Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role is to do with auditing clients. Since I only recieved a week of training (given the length if my internship) the auditing testing I can complete is quite limited. Therefore most the work revolves around comparing invoices to the transactions the company has listed. There is a lot of client interaction, which is suprising but valuable given my job level.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, although all work is reviewed by a manger, I was given access to confidential information, free ability to question the client and able to work fairly autonomously after a couple of weeks.

I've developed my analytical skills more generally and greatly increased my knowledge of the role and general accounting and finance sector. It has also taught me workplace communication and office norms.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
As much as was needed, there is a week of structured and official learning, but after that it is mostly on the job training with the team assigned to the client. All of them were very willing to help no matter how basic my questions seemed.

A very friendly and welcoming company culture, despite the short length of my internship, they treated me like I'd been working there for years

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed it to a high extent. I was unsure about this line of work when I started the internship, but in a short time I've gained a lot more knowledge and an enjoyment of it.
