Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
During my internship, my tasks changed on a day-to-day basis. I was tasked with doing a range of things from call and casts to purchases and disclosures. I was supported by supervisors, managers and other staff throughout the process.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, during my placement I was integrated into teams that were undergoing their audit projects. I spent the first week training and then joined my team and had to complete tasks in order to help complete the project. I was responsible for making sure the work was done and done in time

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
The main skill I have developed is my excel skills. In the short time that I have worked at RSM I have become very efficient and comfortable using excel to perform various tasks. I have also learnt many accounting skills that I did not have prior to the internship as I do not come from an accounting/ finance background

I received a lot of support during my internship from various different people in various roles. This included my people managers, client managers, supervisors and other assistants.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone at RSM is extremely friendly and supportive and the general environment made it very easy for me to feel comfortable within the office.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed my internship as it has enabled me to clearly understand what I want to do in my career and has allowed me to develop and learn many skills. I have also enjoyed working in an office environment and meeting new people
