Visiting sites doing calibrations and services of equipment, handling support calls and ordering parts/equipment for sites that we supply.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy it a lot, there is a lot of travelling the country and the company is great to work for

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a lot about the automation industry in general, where our company fits in this space, where the industry is heading and how and why calibrations are essential for sites.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Due to the size of the team and how busy it is/frequency of support calls training comes in waves but it is manageable and there is a lot to learn, we have had meetings on how we can improve this which is promising.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

There is a lot of support, if I ever have any questions about anything there is always a person that will be available to help throughout the day, or be able to call if we are on site and encounter an issue there will always be support available.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We go in once a week and have recently changed tutors to be doing more practical work which will help and be more engaging, if I have any questions they are answered quickly
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

From reading through the curriculum and speaking with the tutor it seems like this training will be beneficial to my role, currently we havnt learnt anything too helpful outside of the essential H+S
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, they host charity events, summer events and weekend get togethers as well as christmas events.

Why?
It is a great place to work, the team are very friendly and helpful, the work isnt too stressful it has its moments but there is always a support network to get you through
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Promtek?
ask as many questions as possible, there are members of the team that have been here for 30+ years and know everything there is to know, the more you ask the more you get back and the faster you will learn
