Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Monitoring and implementing care for patients within an acute hospital setting, following the NMC’s code of conduct and the standards of proficiencies for Nursifn Associates.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I felt the programme was a good way to get into nursing. It was not easy, but it led me to where I am today.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have obtained a wide range of skills and competencies throughout the training course. I continue to expand my skill set now I am qualified

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
Organisation via HEI 2/10. Lecturers wonderful, never singing from the same hymn sheet. Poor communication between HEI and UHB throughout. Lack of awareness for student wellbeing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
I reached out several times for support. I feel the pastoral support from the SNA team could be better. The course is not easy and not understood properly.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Depends on where you work. Some placements expect you to fill gaps for low staffing levels. It is what you make it, seek opportunity and remember your scope as a student, do not be fooled to fill staffing gaps.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I could not do my job without my qualification so it was 100% necessary.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Networking events, professionals meetings, gaining exposure off the job with specialist areas.
