Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I had a meeting with my manager first thing in the morning, where she would outline my tasks for the day / week. I assisted in the preparation of information for the quarterly close. This involved completing tasks such as the broadcast income accrual, checking royalty statements, preparing reports and updating trend sheets.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes I was given a good level of responsibility, not so much that I felt overwhelmed, but enough to feel like my work contributed to the overall function of my department.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
My communication skills have definitely developed the most. Through hybrid working, I have developed my professional in person communication, as well my communication working from home. I have also developed my attention to detail and my ability to tackle tasks methodically.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Really good company culture and atmosphere, there was always something going on and I was lucky enough to be able to attend screenings of new movies coming out. There were opportunities to partake in charity activities. There were loads of new interns so there was also a really good social culture outside of the office.

What advice would you give to others applying to The Walt Disney Company
It's cliché, but be yourself when applying. Be outgoing and charismatic. I would brush up on your Excel skills as they were a fundamental part of my everyday tasks. Make the most of the year and network!
