Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I mainly performed tasks for my supervisor. At the beginning, my supervisor would assess my workload and provide work accordingly. If my supervisor needed any last minute assistance, they would ask for it. They would review my work at the end of the day and provide feedback the next morning. Usually, we had at least two presentations from different departments everyday. Furthermore, I took on pro bono work during my free time.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was a great experience. I learned about different departments in the legal industry and how they all worked together on transactional and contentious matters. Furthermore, I was able to contribute on several matters, which was a very rewarding experience. The firm's dedication to pro bono work was very appealing to me.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I was able to further my develop my writing, speaking, attention to detail and time-management skills. It was essential for me to rely upon those skills to successfully complete my vacation scheme; however, I was able to learn from my seniors on ways to improve on those skills.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company's culture was very friendly. Each individual takes time out to speak with you and actually provides the guidance you are seeking. Everyone at the firm is very approachable and an absolute pleasure to have a conversation with, be it law related or anything in general.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I loved the experience. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of the firm for those three weeks. I enjoyed speaking with people, attending presentations from different departments and performing tasks for my supervisors.

Just research as much as possible prior to applying for an Open Day or Vacation Scheme. If you are still interested in applying, do not give it a second thought. As interesting as the work is, the people at the firm is what makes this firm stand out from its competitors.
