Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role involved working alongside numerous teams to provide any financial support needed. This range from reporting on budgets to forecasting for them, as well as OPEX accounts. I also provided ER data that was clearly presented in order to help non- financial teams to easily analyse.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes the level of responsibility you have is great. You really feel like an important part of the team and from my experience I was provided the opportunities to work independently on tasks before sending them off.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes I’m this role the use of excel is fundamental - my knowledge here has grown hugely. Further to this my knowledge of invoices, how to report on budgets and forecasting has also improved greatly.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
The support and guidance was great. My manager put in a lot of effort to teach me as much as possible. We also had many calls that were purely set to up to talk through how I was finding the placement along with what I’d like to work on next.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture at Disney is one of the highlights! Everyone who works there is so willing to help and you can tell that everyone has the same goal. This makes it such a lovely place to work.

What advice would you give to others applying to The Walt Disney Company
I’m terms of a finance role I would suggest working on your excel skills, specifically pivot tables are essential in the role so master these and try to mention your skill set if possible. Also remember to just come across well - being as this is a placement quite often they look for willingness to learn / enthusiasm for the job.
