Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day-to-day role consist of interpreting client data to help completing their tax returns, client communication , requesting information from clients, phone calls with HMRC to solve issues that we may be having, helping the other members of my team with their work load.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I would highly recommend the programme because of how supportive the members of staff have been, whether that is in HR, the tax team or our academy support. The content has always been clear and enjoyable to learn about -

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Before I joined Fortus I had no prior experience in tax and either in an office environment. I began my role at Fortus on reception but after showing an interest I was given to opportunity to join their tax team. Everything I know now has been a new skill.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The structure of the course is well planned our HR team is always on hand to help where need be, they also provide a full training plan alongside what Kaplan have provided. Plus, any issues we have in relation to structure HR is always on hand to help.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

We are always receiving support from our employer from the team in which I am in to HR and our academy support who provides training days on what we are struggling with or what is relevant in the work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Kaplan itself has a great support network 24/7 that you can email or call. They are usually quick to respond and always resolve the problem/question that I have. During our online sessions our tutor is always happy to answer any questions
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Overall it has made me much more confident in the work I am producing as through training I am learning a lot of information. Plus, I can take on more challenging work due to my knowledge growing.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Fortus has a social committee which plans social evets and I have joined the team. Fortus also hosts lunch & learns and in office events for clients but we are also able to attend and listen and of course the Christmas party.

Why?
They are a great team to be apart of, wellbeing is a big thing here. Support is always available when needed plus they are also keen on development within the business.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fortus Limited?
Go for it, be confident in yourself, I applied with no prior experience and they were willing to give me a go!!
