Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves preparing VAT returns, annual accounts, corporation tax returns, personal tax returns, as well as handling some bookkeeping tasks. I receive assignments from my manager and team, and I can request support or have my work reviewed by them when needed.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the programme. It has introduced me to new skills and challenges, which have helped me grow not only professionally but also personally.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've gained a wide range of new skills throughout my apprenticeship, especially as I started with little to no prior experience. Fortus has been incredibly supportive, making the learning process smooth and helping me develop both professionally and personally

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme has been well-structured, with clear communication throughout. Everyone understands how it works and what the next steps will be at each stage.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a great deal of support from my employer. There's a strong focus not only on the business side of things but also on people and their wellbeing, which really shows in the way they support us.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We receive constructive feedback on any mock exams or assignments we complete, which is really helpful for developing our knowledge and identifying areas where we can improve
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have plenty of social events throughout the year, including fuddles, bingo, Secret Santa, ABRs, the Christmas party, and even cricket on the beach. These events create a fun and inclusive atmosphere that helps bring everyone together.

Why?
The company has been incredibly welcoming throughout my entire apprenticeship. I've never been made to feel uncomfortable, and everyone has been quick to offer help whenever I’ve faced any challenges.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fortus Limited?
I’d say be prepared to meet lots of lovely people! Also, make sure to pay attention even when others aren't speaking directly to you—you can pick up so much useful information just by listening and observing.
