Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Working with snow camp has been the best year ever I with 2 other apprentices helped our manager with doing programmes through the year we went onto the slope and helped support the young people we also had lots of different work placements which helped with lots of work experience which landed me a job at one of my placements we also went to Andorra for a week as staff so for the full week we were there to help out on and off the mountain
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I absolutely loved my apprenticeship with snowcamp my confidence has improved a lot and I’ve made a lots of new friends and skills I’ve also gotten to leave the country twice with them which I’ve learned lots from like interview prep and loads of other things

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I’ve learned lots at my work placements like working in a clothing store and my other placements at Glasgow ski and board I’ve learned how to set up skis and snowboard how to give proper advice to people looking at getting skis or snowboard

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programmes we help out on are very well organised and we always know if there is going to be any changes well before it happens
How much support do you receive from your employer?

We got lots of support through the whole year with weekly chats with our wellbeing manager so there is always someone to talk to if you need it
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I received a lot of support from my training provider we had weekly calls about the course work and he would always make sure we knew what we were to do and if we needed any help all we had to do was text him
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I now know how to confidently set up a training session and also what to do if there is a emergency
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We did lots of other activities we went go karting at Christmas and went tubing at the beginning and end of our apprenticeship

Why?
I would definitely recommend working for snowcamp to a friend it has been an amazing year full with lots of fun and awesome experiences that I won’t ever forget I’ve met lots of new friends and other people that also work for snowcamp and they are such lovely and friendly people
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Snow Camp?
Just go for it if you aren’t successful about getting the apprenticeship if you keep involved with the charity then you can still get amazing opportunities and you can also still go for the apprenticeship next year
