Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Speaking to customers (schools) about what tech they need and going back to multiple suppliers to get the best price for schools. I create estimates to send over to the schools and if they would like to go ahead with the order, I then arrange the order to be delivered.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the programme. I get a lot of support from Solve way and my colleagues. If I am struggling with anything they try to help as much as they can and if they can't they arrange for someone who knows more to help me which is really nice.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to use excel and QuickBooks to create estimates and purchase orders. I have developed my communication skills and phone etiquette as I have to speak to suppliers and schools daily. I have improved my problem solving skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very organised. I have clear deadlines and the tasks are well explained.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I get so much support from my employers, they help me when I am struggling with my work and they check up on me regularly to make sure I am doing okay. They arrange extra help if I need it and they are really supportive.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

They are really supportive. I have extra help with my teacher. I have regular phone calls with them to see where I am at and what I need to improve on.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have not completed my course yet however, the skills and knowledge I’ve gained have given me a stronger understanding in key areas, such as problem-solving, communication, and using relevant software tools. The training has not only improved my confidence but also improved my ability to handle tasks efficiently and manage challenges more effectively.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

My employer arranges company socials which are always fun and it is lovely to see everyone. They have arranged a family BBQ in the summer and they always arrange a christmas party and dinner.

My advice would be to be proactive and open to learning. It is a really supportive environment and there is a lot to learn.
