Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
coordinating communciations, supporting the delivery of work packages, contributing to board papers and gathering paperwork for governance, leading on budget monitoring and all procurement activities. Also some experience supporting stakeholder engagement.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Thoroughly enjoyed it, found the portfolio very challenging towards the end but had great support from my coach to push me through and over the line.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
budget monitoring, forecasting, procurement skills all developed in this role as I had limited previous experience. Working in a 100% project focused environment has also been great experience

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
good balance between structure and self-directed study - I always felt that my coach was on hand to have spontaneous meetings too, particularly at more challenging or stressful times during the programme (e.g. before an exam)
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
20% off the job learning is part of contract, but it was sometimes difficult to protect this time despite blocking out in diary. Challenging colleague perceptions for a better awareness and understanding of the time and effort of an apprenticeship would have helped this.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
incredible amount, I couldn't have asked for anymore. I was provided with extensive documentation and templates, I had 1:1 support on a frequent basis, and also had the opportunity to attend group revision classes which were very useful.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I have gained so much more knowledge of project management through the qualification, and I have been able to put these new skills into practice almost immediately in my current work role, so I have been able to see the instant value of gaining these new skills.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I work at a large organisation so there are lots of opportunities for professional networking events (lunch and learn sessions, workshops, training and development courses) - all of which have been useful in building new working bonds.
