Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
On a day to day basis my role was to design, manufacture and repair electronics for a part of the year and for the other part of the year it was to work as a technician to help run the electronics lab this involved helping students and preparing the lab for the final year projects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoyed my program a lot however the poor communication from the growth company made the apprenticeship much more difficult as neither i or my employer could speak to them. The day to day of my apprenticeship was very enjoyable as I was constantly learning and being thought by the workshop technicians.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes during my apprenticeship I have learnt lots about all aspects of electronics. Mostly from working in the electronics workshop where my day to day job was to design and manufacture circuit boards as-well as occasionally repair equipment that needed fixing. During this time I also learnt a lot about 3D printing and laser cutting as some of the jobs required cases.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The work related parts of my program were very well structured and taught however the work that I was sent to complete by the growth company was not well organised and it was impossible to communicate with them I am honestly surprised that my work was graded
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
During my apprenticeship I received excellent support from my employer any query could easily be asked and answered. They have supported my very well and I have learnt a lot from them. They were equally frustrated by my training provider and were very helpful in trying to get communication from them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
I have received very little almost no communication from my training provider in the last 18 months of my apprenticeship both me and my employer have been left extremely disappointed with the growth company. The first year of my apprenticeship the training provider was good but that seemed to fall apart further into my training.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I feel that the qualification through collage courses helps me a lot during my day to day tasks. The most helpful was electrical installation as in my job I mostly deal with DC circuits so learning about AC installations was helpful in my development and will help me in my day to day job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There probably are but I am not a part of them
