Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role has changed since January 2024. My day-to-day role consists of answering customer enquiries, making bookings, contacting customers to make them aware of future repairs (ie services and MOTs). I upsell any advisories, I check customers in, check customers out, deal with recovered vehicles, deal with new vehicles etc
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my job a lot as I have come from a backround with a family that is car obsessed. I enjoy my job because I get to deal with beautiful cars and wonderful people. The thing I enjoy most is knowing I want to spend the rest of my future here as I can see myself expanding my career here.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my skills since working here such as communication, mirroring, observing and patience. Even though this job is very full on, a lot of it is a waiting game between internal and external customers. I have developed my skills by carrying out necessary training and quite simply shadowing my colleagues.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I personally think its getting there, we have gone through a huge change in the business within the last few months. I wouldnt say its awful, but it could do with some work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Management wise- They are incredibly busy people trying to juggle 3/4 dealerships whilst looking after a lot of employees. We have had progress meetings in the past, however since the change I have been 'left alone' from management. When I need them they are there, so from another perspective I would say they are very supportive. Mr colleagues on the other hand, will help in a heartbeat.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider was the best provider I could have ever been given. She understood who I was as a person and never failed to go the extra mile in terms of support and explaining things for me. She had an amazing duty of care towards not only my job but also my mental health. I guess you could say she was my work mum. Amazing woman.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

During my apprenticeship, I have learnt a lot about general data protection, and this information is more important than what most people think. I perform better in my role by adapting to my surroundings, observe my customers.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Last August, I was invited to Majorca for the 911.2 launch- which was extremely cool. I got the opportunity to go on track, and off roading, in a brand new vehicle and learn about all the electronics that happens internally. Other than that, we had organised christmas parties.
