Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Currently a project planner which involves creating schedules, plans of various description, and driving delivery and challenging slippage as well as managing dependencies both internal and external.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I loved the apprenticeship and my current role, as mentioned I learnt a lot of new skills whilst also developing new relationships with colleagues.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many, many new skills, the apprenticeship required engagement on 15 different learning areas, many of which were not encompassed in my day to day roles, the apprenticeship helped me open doors and gain experience that whilst useful to my role would not have been available otherwise.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
the programme was well structured, I always knew what current work was expected and what was on the horizon, this allowed me to properly plan my study and get the best results.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
my employer was amazing, we had regular meetings about the apprenticeship, my manager either directed me to individuals who could get me involved in different learning areas or he organised days where I could leave my current role and take up other areas for the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My trainer was always available and responded to any queries promptly, constructive feedback was given which I am sure helped me pass and achieve the grade i did (merit)
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The learning and training helped me understand the role and interconnected parts a lot better, as a relative newcome to PM, i learnt a lot in a short space of time and it really helped me progress.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
there are numerous sporting teams to become involved in if needed, lots of networking events and my employer actively promotes being involved in things like carers networks and mentoring.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend HMRC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
HMRC actively promotes professional development, there are lots of training packages available and training days are readily available. As well as the training availability, I find Line Management are always happy to support whether that is sharing knowledge or days/time to study.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to HMRC?
dont hesitate, as an employer they are people focussed, there are lots of learning opportunities and opportunities to progress and build a career, and the apprenticeship is an ideal way to learn on the job.
