Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My programme at Willis comprises six rotations, each lasting four months, over a span of two years. These rotations cover a variety of roles, including broking, sales, and client servicing. The aim is to provide me with extensive exposure to the diverse functions within Willis and a comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry as a whole.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have been very impressed with the programme at Willis. I have been given significant responsibility and ample opportunities to thrive and challenge myself, which I believe is essential for any apprenticeship programme. Although managing the ACII qualification alongside full-time work can be demanding, it has been invaluable in solidifying the new knowledge and understanding gained through my role, and vice versa.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have acquired numerous new skills and enhanced existing ones through both practical on-the-job learning and formal education, particularly through the ACII qualification, which is a core component of the programme. Among the new skills I have developed is a solid understanding of the functioning of the insurance market, with a specific focus on the London market.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

As previously mentioned, the programme is well structured into six rotations, each lasting four months. Throughout my time, there has been consistent engagement from programme leaders, along with various learning activities that form a key part of the overall programme.

I receive substantial support from my employer. Programme leaders and managers consistently engage with us, providing guidance and resources. Additionally, there are various learning activities and opportunities for professional development, ensuring that we have the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed in our roles.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
I receive a reasonable amount of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications. They offer various resources and guidance to assist with my studies, ensuring that I have the necessary tools to progress.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The ACII qualification provided by my training provider significantly enhances my performance in my role. It deepens my understanding of industry principles and practices, which I can directly apply to my daily tasks, thereby improving my effectiveness and contributing to my professional growth.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are numerous extra-curricular activities at Willis, including various inclusion networks. We also engage in activities within the wider insurance market, such as sports teams and networking events. I have participated in both internal and external networking opportunities and have attended a range of external conferences and events.
