Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
The role of audit associate involves completing statutory audits and other assurance engagements on a variety of clients, depending on the team you join. This means assessing risks, verifying that we have gained comfort over these risks and concluding on work performed.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
There are some enjoyable aspects to the job and I think these tend to come as you get further through the programme and are trusted with more complex areas of an audit, however the day to day can feel monotonous at times.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed a range of skills including problem solving, communication with experienced corporate individuals and leadership.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well organised, with a training provider to help with any queries.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I feel I am given adequate support from S&W within my apprenticeship. I have not necessarily needed to rely on this but I know that extra support is there if needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Quarterly catchup calls from an individual within the company as well as detailed tuition and revision phases throughout for each exam module sat.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think that it helps quite a lot, however depends on which exam module is being sat and how relevant it is for your department (for example tax based exams do not help, however assurance based exams do).
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are plenty of team socials and department wide socials, including 5 a side, bingo nights, a summer & christmas party, and many more.
