I lead a team of 3 data analysts, we work to a backlog of improvements raised by the wider product teams and build proof-of-concepts and reports for them, primarily to improve their understanding of the end users and how our various products are performing in the marketplace.

Greatly, the topic is often quite 'manufacturing/engineering' biased but applies to transactional financial services too.
