Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I serve business customers for their everyday banking needs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy it very mch. The work culture is good and I feel like I am being pushed for my benefit, not the company's although the company indirectly benefits from me being better

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Developed socialisation skills, multi-tasking, finance.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It's quite well structured. Only critique is we have BPP meetings that are over an hour long but we don't have the time off for them, we're expected to use our study day to catch up but the BPP leader says we should be there live. More co-ordination from Natwest and BPP would be nice
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots of support, my team leads have been very good. They provide coaching in areas I struggled and pushed me in areas I knew I could be better
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I talk to my training provider monthly and she gives me feedback and tells me exactly what I need to do for my coursework. She marks my work in a timely manner so I can use the previous work to improve on the next part.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It has ups and downs. At the beginning it helped me understand what banks actually do and how they're regulated. But since I work with business customers, there was a large part of the coursework that was catered to all areas of the bank, primarily personal accounts. I felt like I didn't relate to that part of the coursework.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I've met up for drinks and a meal with colleagues. I also did a volunteering day in a park which was really nice.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Great pay, great benefits, and they care for the individual. I feel like I'm seen and I can be myself in the workplace. I like seeing a diversity of culture in the office across the bank. I feel like I can be anything.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Be yourself. They appreciate your differences and strengths. I don't consider myself as super 'professional' but I'm good at what I do and I work hard. I feel like NatWest can see that.
