Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Supporting team members with tasks/projects which go hand-in-hand with learning delivered by training provider.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
A lot. The organisation is broad and no corner of Supply Chain Services completely falls within 'traditional' procurement, and I found what I enjoyed/what interested me most by listening to the experiences of other professionals within teams and having a go at working alongside them.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes. I have developed great communication skills as well as critical thinking. I have learned how to use multiple tools prominent within the industry as well as helpful tricks and ways of working on applications.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Not very well at the beginning, but now there is a much clearer plan and process when it comes to determining where I am as an apprentice and where I should be aiming to get.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
A lot of support. I am provided many opportunities to speak to people within diverse teams and work on different projects. I also get plenty of freedom to study for exams.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
During Level 4, as there was an apprenticeship programme in place, there was a lot more support when it came to professional development and learning to prepare for exams, but now during Level 5, the responsibility falls largely upon you to learn and prepare with resources provided.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The qualification has a lot of different bits of content, so it's a mixed bag of strictly procurement-based as well as more generic content which can fit into most roles.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Many sports teams are available to get involved in. Social activities are not as frequent but do happen now and then. Less professional networking events.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
At least in my role, I feel that the people I work with are very supportive of you as a professional and as a learner, and the opportunity to work alongside them and network could be very important for my future. I can also work remotely 5 days a week.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Prepare as best you can, show the interviewer in your final interview that you have put effort in by researching the organisation's values as well as what the role you're applying for entails.
