Summer Intern Review

The role involved helping out with work where possible, getting involved in team calls and client work, immersing yourself in workplace/team culture, getting a grasp of the variation of work that the team is involved in. As a part of my internship, there were Away Days to various offices across the UK- leading to time spent travelling and networking/hearing people's career paths and stories.

I was given the opportunity to get involved in multiple different facets of work, all of which felt like I was providing value in some capacity. Although some work did feel more important than others, it did generally feel like what I was working on was productive and helpful.

Massively expanded my knowledge of VAT and Indirect Tax
Learned about office culture and professionalism
Learned about managing deadlines and arranging a calendar/varying time commitments
Developed people skills through networking opportunities

My buddy, counsellor, and every member of the team and surrounding office were extremely welcoming and friendly. They ensured to get me involved at every opportunity, both in a work and social capacity. They were continuously there to provide any assistance or answer any questions I had, supporting me through every aspect of the internship. They always made sure I had a good understanding of what I was asked to do.

Very inclusive, open and welcoming. Many opportunities for everyone to get involved in conversations, chats and socials. Everyone you met seemed so keen to help you out and make you feel included.

I very much enjoyed my internship. I was provided a wide variety of opportunities and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my time at EY.
