Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As a summer intern, I supported the audit team with different tasks assigned to me on a day-to-day basis. This included working on various Excel workbooks and helping with both half-year and year-end tasks. It gave me a good understanding of how an audit team works and the different types of work involved.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given a good amount of responsibility during my internship. Team members would assign me real tasks that were part of their work, which I would then complete and submit through EY's platform to be reviewed by more senior team members. This made me feel that I was trusted with meaningful work and given real responsibility as an intern.

Yes, I developed my Excel skills and became more confident working with financial information. I also got exposure to what audit procedures look like in practice.

I received a good amount of support and guidance throughout my internship. Team members were always available to answer questions and explain tasks when needed, while also giving me the opportunity to work independently on the tasks I was assigned.
