Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I design, deliver, and evaluate learning across Bright Horizons, aligning training to our competencies. I support colleagues daily, collaborate with internal teams, and contribute to projects. I ensure our learning offer is effective, inclusive, and responsive to business and regulatory needs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my Level 3 L&D apprenticeship. It’s helped me deepen my understanding of learning theory while applying it in real-time to my role. I’ve especially valued the chance to reflect on my practice, build new skills, and contribute more strategically to learning initiatives across Bright Horizons.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I’ve developed skills in instructional design, evaluating learning impact, and aligning content to business needs. I’ve strengthened facilitation, coaching, and digital learning skills, while gaining confidence in stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and creating inclusive, competency-aligned learning—applying these daily to support continuous improvement at Bright Horizons.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My Level 3 L&D apprenticeship is very self-taught, which suits my learning style as I enjoy working independently and applying knowledge in practice. However, this approach may not suit everyone, as it relies on strong self-motivation and the ability to manage learning alongside a busy role.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive strong support from my employer, both through regular check-ins and the flexibility to apply my learning in real work projects. My manager and wider team are encouraging, provide feedback, and create opportunities for me to develop and evidence my skills throughout the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
While the programme is largely self-directed, my coach is responsive and available when needed, helping me stay on track and ensuring I understand how to meet the qualification requirements.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification has enhanced my ability to perform in my role. It has provided me with a deeper understanding of learning and development theories, which I can apply directly to my work. The practical skills I’ve gained, have allowed me to contribute more strategically to development initiatives.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Bright Horizons offers team-building events, charity fundraisers, social gatherings, and professional development opportunities. Our Community Groups such as Pathways to Parenthood, Caring for Carers, and Menopause Matters, provide inclusive spaces for support and connection, fostering belonging and personal development across the organisation.
