Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Managing BAU business processes and supporting in the management of complaints and issues for a contractor workforce. I also support other departments with anything relating to Associates. I also support the delivery of our Summer Exam series through awarding qualifications. In the last year I had been involved with a large transformational project and looking forward to getting involved with more.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I love the fact that I am able to develop as a project manager within key areas. I also have a really good working relationship within my cohort in the university side of things that means we are able to push each other to produce the best work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have gained alot of knowledge on Project Management which I have been able to apply to projects I am currently working on within my role and develop skills like project planning and risk management. I have also learned skills around stakeholder management and communication within a project setting.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The apprenticeship team at Pearson puts on a strong programme of events like networking or speakers which you can choose to engage with. There was also a really good onboarding process which saw day in which you came in and where taken through what an apprenticeship is.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received strong support from the apprenticeship team at Pearson. I have received strong support from my line managers although there can be some delay in understanding and thus support when line managers change
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I feel like they have been really supportive in getting me to a place in which I can achieve the degree programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

This will give me a recognised set of knowledge and skills that will ultimately make me more employable.
