Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks aimed at managing cleaning operations effectively leading teams and ensuring client satisfaction. My day to day responsibilities include team management, cleaning operations, client relations, H&S compliance, budget management, admin duties and sustainability initiatives to mention but a few.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

This programme is very interactive with evidenced based practices from a group of candidates with diverse background and coupled with different sector based experiences. Assignments and further self study and research are part of the programme and professional discussions on the master classes with the tutor are presented.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The apprenticeship has added more insight into managing and leading my team effectively through continuous development requirements and their learning needs. Different approaches to people management have been developed. New leadership and management tools and techniques have been developed. Acting professionally ethically with integrity point of view has augmented.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

GLP has an organised and well structured programme system to follow. Power point slides are posted prior to the master class. Previous learning outcomes are touched prior to the new class to ensure that have been well equipped with the previous lectures. GPL has extra data base resources on line.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The support needed from my Line Manager, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is huge. He gives me the moral support and and encouragement through an open communication channel. I also receive the required guidance and mentorship coupled with the required work-life balance for the programme. Constructive feedback is also given.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The support received from GLP has been excellent and essential in ensuring the completion and success of the programme. Continuous improvement from being equipped by GPL with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to excel in the programme has been the key. The lecturer Vern is easily contactable for directions
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have realised an improvement of enhanced skill set which has enabled me to more tasks efficiently and effectively. There has been an improvement of my knowledge base through the understanding of best practices and collaboration. Critical thinking and better communication skills has been evidenced in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

By being part of the Domestic Managers' forum has enhanced my professional networking ethos. Attending work shops through collaboration of events has provided opportunities to learn beyond the core curriculum, enriching both personal and professional development. My group apprentice participants promote a mindset of growth and knowledge sharing through our created networking. We also attend the social club after work on Fridays sometimes to share some drinks.

The apprenticeship provides the the opportunity to gain real world experience and apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting. Participants develop a diverse range of skills relevant to their chosen fields. Career advancement leading to pathway to employment within the organisation is possible. Access to networking.
