Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
At the RNLI we do a range of jobs and work in a range of cells, for me i do mechanical work which involves stripping out mechanical systems and re-fitting them back in, we do a lot of testing these systems as well as sea trials and commissioning which i have been involved in.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I think overall this apprenticeship is really good we have been given a lot of opportunity like outward bounds and coastal trips which where super fun, and was also good to enjoy with my colleges.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
i have learnt a wide range of mechanical skills that i can bring with me throughout the rest of my life all of these skills are new and knowledge will make me a very employable person in the future.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
throughout my apprenticeship i feel like their has been some missing parts i.e organisation, general structure, cell movements needed to be more organised, I.e more on what the apprentice desires to stay or permanently be their, which makes you more employable to be on that permanent cell.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
i think its a alright amount of support as apprentices we are expected to get on with it but i feel some apprentices get ignored with issues they may have which are not clear to see, the way of getting round this might be having a sit down every month and talk about how they are getting on as a personal and if their is any personal issues management could sort out.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
collage is good, check-ups are maybe not as consonant as id like it but i've been ok and should be on track to finish by September
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
At collage not a lot of the work relates and we don't do our engines in house so we can relate that work to collage or collage to work. But overall the coarse dose relate as its marine and engineering/ mechanical
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
We get outward bounds, we also go on careers events in schools to open kids minds on apprenticeships,
