Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My current role is as a National Supply Chain Assistant. Depending on the team you sit within this same job title can involve different tasks and responsibilities. I work within freight settlement which includes processing and reporting on freight and expenses related invoices on behalf of our department.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am thoroughly enjoying it. It can be quite intense but the modules are broken down into digestible chunks which make learning approachable and easy to pick up and schedule around typical day to day tasks. The webinars really help to consolidate knowledge learnt from the training materials.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I am currently learning new skills and hope to acquire greater technical knowledge which I can hopefully utilise and improve our existing in-team reporting structures. I also hope to be able to progress within the business in future the role of Analyst.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is brilliant at allowing me the on the job time I need to complete my apprenticeship related learning and tasks. They are also very supportive so I feel I could approach them if I was falling behind or have any concerns.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

A great deal of support is provided by our training provider BPP. The learning modules are self study but webinars with tutors help to consolidate these materials. We have coaches who are very supportive and provide advice and a helpful point of contact when needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It will give me greater technical knowledge and it has already given me a much greater understanding of data and analysis. This will assist me in creating reports that will benefit the team.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are plenty but I do not currently get involved as I am a single parent and do not get a lot of free time. However, I am signed up to the coffee roulette which gives us the opportunity to meet and chat with another colleague in the department for half an hour during our working hours on 1 day each month, helping build relationships within the department and fostering a sense of community in an otherwise large department where we wouldn't all necessarily be interacting with each other day to day.

Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a great company to work for. The pay is good, there are plenty of opportunities to develop and grow and as long as you are prepared to work hard and use your own initiative you will be valued and supported and given opportunities for growth within your role. I've not seen this paralleled in other companies.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
Demonstrate that you are able to think on your feet and use your own initiative. Within Aldi you will be given your own areas of responsibility to manage and look after so it is really important that you are self-motivated and solution focused.
