Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Day to day I manage the office along with technological requirements of the office, produce quality control reports and manage our AI automation within the business as well as proactively suggest new softwares. I manage all of our external suppliers and maintain healthy relationships, I am the point of contact for any issues with them and negotiate new contracts
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I very much enjoy the programme, the job is extremely rewarding and my efforts are recognised on a regular basis. University was quite easy in the first year, however workload has increased in the second year and, while still manageable, is starting to challenge myself and my cohort. Overall, the balance between work and University is an enjoyable lifestyle.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
One of the first things I learnt as Zenopa is how to become an excel expert, Microsoft Excel is a key part of my day to day role and I quickly picked this up when producing reports and altering existing ones. However, I also learnt the importance of professional conduct and communication, particularly with suppliers to maintain a healthy relationship. My knowledge of IT software & hardware has been developed, and key internal relationship maintenance also.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is extremely organised. There is frequent communication from both the workplace and the University in terms of requirements, offering assistance and developing me professionally. We have clear schedules and structures in place for our professional development & promotions as well as each semester, assignment due dates for University too.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I recieve extensive support from my employer. Whether this be from my manager, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] my mentor, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] or cross-team support when working collaboratively, there is plenty of people to ask for advice or just to have a chat with. I have weekly 1-2-1s with both my manager and my mentor.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Although not directly recieving any support thus far (I haven't particularly required this), the availability at University of West London for support is vast. Assignment support is available through personal tutoring modules or booking time with lecturers, as well as mental health support and much more
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The modules we learn in our University course thus far are extremely relevant to my role. Given I work in the Central Services (operations) team, learning about business structure and how they operate is key to my every day work. I find myself applying learnings from University into my work regularly
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Zenopa is an SME, so there isn't sports teams or networking events for the Central Services team (the sales teams alternatively may attend conferences, exhibitions etc) however there are weekly social events, infrequent badminton/football sessions to attend and internal incentives with prizes including boat trips with other teams, vouchers, leave early passes and more.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Zenopa to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have recommended Zenopa to many of my friends already. The reason being that I believe a degree apprenticeship is undoubtedly the right path for someone my age and is extremely rewarding, and you won't find a better employer than Zenopa for this. It is a fantastic company for a young person to integrate into the professional world and I have heard of friends starting apprenticeships in corporate companies and not enjoying themselves, so the family-feel of Zenopa is something I would love for any of my friends to be involved in
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Zenopa?
I would say to be yourself, recruitment is not an easy business, but to connect with our customers talking to them as a genuinely interested person is most effective. You need to be motivated and sure of the path you want to take, if this is the case you will be rewarded in your results. I work closely with [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] who manages internal applicants who frequently tells me that Zenopa aren't neccesarily just looking for good grades or a flashy CV, the right person is key.
